Accounting & Audit
Small businesses are required by the Revenue to maintain a record of all their transactions. From those records they are obliged to prepare accounts to measure the profit or loss of the activity for inclusion into their annual Tax Return.
There are penalties of up to £3,000 for failing to do so.
Those carrying on their own businesses can expect at some point to have their accounts examined by the Revenue "in-depth". The process can be lengthy and exhaustive, particularly if errors are found.
"Three-line accounts" (for those with turnover of less than £ 15,000) are routinely selected for examination.
Our work is of a high standard which brings you the confidence and assurance that your accounts and tax submissions have been properly prepared.
Furthermore, the provision of reliable accounting information with proper and plain explanation enables our clients to better understand the results of their activities and their situation.
Some organisations, often charitable or not-for-profit bodies (see our guide to charities/voluntary sector) as well as certain limited companies and other businesses, require a formal audit. That requires a properly qualified Auditor to pass an opinion as to the truth and fairness of the accounts prepared from the books and records.
As Registered Auditors you can be confident that our work will be of an appropriate standard to provide the necessary assurance.
